I KNOW MANY OF YOU ALSO HAVE FAMILY, FRIENDS, FAMILY MEMBERS, AND LOVED ONES WHO HAVE SERVED IN THE MILITARY ON THE LAND OR ON SEA.

IN TEXAS, WE ARE BLESSED WITH MORE THAN 1.5 MILLION VETERANS CALL OUR GREAT STATE HOME.

MILLIONS MORE ARE SPREAD ACROSS THE COUNTRY, BUT ALL HAVE COURAGEOUSLY ANSWERED THE CALL OF DUTY AND FOUGHT TO DEFEND THEIR FELLOW AMERICANS.

UM, IN THIS SITUATION, THERE WERE SOME, UH, ISSUES THAT DID ARISE.

WE HAD, DID HAVE A FORCE MAIN THAT WAS TIED IN, INTO OUR LIFT STATION THAT, UH, WE WEREN'T AWARE OF.

UH, SO WHEN THEY CAME DOWN TO, UH, DRAINING THE LIFT STATION AND THEN PROPERLY DISINFECTING AND CLEANING IT OUT, WE WERE STILL GETTING WATER IN THE LIFT STATION.

UM, ONCE THEY EXPOSED, UH, CERTAIN AREAS, WE SAW THAT THERE WAS ANOTHER FORCE MAIN THAT WOULD TIE INTO OUR LIFT STATION.

UM, SOME VALVES WERE INSTALLED PRIOR THAT, UH, THERE WERE ABOUT APPROXIMATELY TWO FEET OVER UNDERGROUND, SO WE DIDN'T EVEN KNOW THAT WE COULD RE DIVERT THAT FORCE MAINE, AWAY FROM OUR LIFT STATION AND THEN HAVE IT JUST SENT OFF TO OUR, OUR MAIN, UH, CITY SHOP ONE.

UM, ONCE THEY, UH, RECONFIGURED THAT, SO KIND OF DISASSOCIATE THAT, UH, THAT LIFT OR THAT, THAT FORCE MAIN THAT, UH, THAT WE DIDN'T KNOW ABOUT, UH, REDIRECTING IT, TYING IT INTO THE EXISTING FORCE MAIN, THAT'S WHERE THIS CHANGE ORDER CAME INTO, INTO EFFECT.

DO YOU FORESEE ANY OTHER CHANGE ORDERS BEFORE THE COMPLETION OF THIS PROJECT? AS OF NOW, NO.

THAT WAS, UH, THE MAIN UNKNOWNS CONSIDERING, UH, YOU CAN'T FORESEE THESE THINGS.
