AND AT THE TIME OF RECOGNITION OF CENTRAL ROLE OF, UH, AFRICAN-AMERICANS IN THE U S HISTORY.

WHEREAS SINCE 1976, EVERY US PRESIDENT HAS OFFICIALLY DESIGNATED THE MONTH OF FEBRUARY AS BLACK HISTORY MONTH AND OTHER COUNTRIES AROUND THE WORLD, INCLUDING CANADA AND THE UNITED KINGDOM ALSO DEVOTE A MONTH TO CELEBRATE BLACK HISTORY.

AND WHEREAS THIS OBSERVATION OF AFFORDS A SPECIAL OPPORTUNITY TO BECOME MORE KNOWLEDGEABLE ABOUT, ABOUT BLACK HERITAGE AND TO HONOR THE ARE MANY BLACK LEADERS WHO HAVE CONTRIBUTED TO THE PROGRESS OF OUR COMMUNITY STATE NATION, AND KOREA'S SUCH KNOWLEDGE CONSTRAINTED AND UNDER UNDERSTANDING BY ALL CITIZENS REGARDING THE ISSUE OF HUMAN RIGHTS, THE GREAT STRIDES THAT HAVE BEEN MADE IN THE CRUSADE TO ELIMINATE BARRIERS, TO EQUALITY FOR MINORITIES, MINORITY GROUPS, AND TO CONTINUE TO STRUGGLE AGAINST RACIAL DISCRIMINATION AND POVERTY AND CARAMEL THE CITY.

WHEREAS THE CITY OF SAN BENITO ACKNOWLEDGES AND APPRECIATES THE MANY CONTRIBUTIONS OF AFRICAN-AMERICAN FAMILIES WHO HELPED PRESERVE, PROTECT AND MAINTAIN OUR CITY'S AFRICAN-AMERICAN HISTORY AT THE CALENDAR OF BLACK HISTORY MUSEUM.

THE FIRST MUSEUM SOUTH OF SAN ANTONIO, DEDICATED TO OUR AFRICAN-AMERICAN PIONEERS.

AND WHEREAS THIS YEAR'S THEME, BLACK HEALTH AWARENESS CHOSEN EACH YEAR BY THE ASSOCIATION FOR THE STUDY OF AFRICAN-AMERICAN LIFE AND HISTORY ACKNOWLEDGES THE LEGACY OF NOT ONLY BLACK SCHOLARS AND PRACTITIONERS IN WESTERN MEDICINE, BUT ALSO OTHER WAYS OF KNOWING AND EXAMPLE MIDWIVES, BIRTH WORKERS, HERBALISTS DO ALL THIS NATURAL PATHS, ET CETERA, THROUGHOUT THE AFRICAN DISCIPLINE ERA.
